Xian Lim says he's ‘single and ready to mingle’

MANILA, Philippines – Is there no more chance of a real-life romance between Xian Lim and Kim Chiu?

Asked about his romantic status during the launch of skin product line Pond’s Men on Tuesday, March 18, the Kapamilya actor said he’s “single and ready to mingle.”

“Nagpapasalamat ako dahil feeling ko ‘yung mga tumili, mga fans ‘yun e,” Xian quipped when asked by members of the press to elaborate about his statement. “Why not?”

Xian and Kim’s off-screen relationship has been a subject of speculation since they became on-screen partners via the 2011 ABS-CBN “My Binondo Girl.” Last January, Kim was a subject of media scrutiny after she refused to answer a question about the real status of his relationship with Xian.

“We don't owe you any of our personal lives siguro. You can think whatever you want to think as long as you're happy when you watch us on TV, nakikita ‘nyo kung paano kami ma-in love, ganyan and 'yon na 'yon,” Kim said. The actress immediately apologized for the controversial statement.

Asked if Kim is already out of picture for Xian when it comes to romance, the “Bride for Rent” actor said: “We have a very special relationship na para sa amin lang po yun.”

Xian has no ill feelings towards the current onscreen partnership of Kim and Coco Martin. Kim and Coco star in the ongoing ABS-CBN soap opera “Ikaw Lamang.” This is even after the success of the Kim and Xian movie “Bride for Rent.”

“Of course, we’re all part of one family, Star Magic. We’re all part of one network. So I’m just happy,” the actor said, adding he’s willing to be paired with anyone. “I want to be a versatile actor,” he said.

The actor is currently in between projects now, although he said a movie and a television show is in the works.

“I feel very blessed and there are so many things coming up my way,” said Xian, who also received public scrutiny after he referred to a Kim Chiu impersonator as Kapuso star Bea Binene during a live show. “They give me their full support. I’m just here to work hard and to prove myself to people.”

The 24-year-old actor spoke to the press to promote Pond’s Men, which launched three new skin care products — the Energy Charge Facial Foam and Gel Moistuzer, the Acne Clear Oil Control Face Wash and the Energy Charge All-In-One Moistuzer
