Man Overboard defends pop punk in Manila

MANILA, Philippines - Get stoked and ready as Pulp Live World gives you an early Christmas present. American pop-punk band Man Overboard is set to heat up the holiday season as it brings its brand of energetic and catchy music for the first time to the Philippine shores on Dec. 19 (Thursday) at Purgatory Bar, 2/F Concorde Building, Salcedo Street cor. Benavides Legaspi Village, Makati.

Man Overboard was formed as the brainchild of childhood friends, bassist Nik Bruzzese and guitarist Wayne Wildrik.  The band entered the studio on 2008 and over the course of five years released three full-length studio albums, five extended plays, two full-length collection plus B sides albums and a live album documenting its performance in Leeds, United Kingdom. The band’s critically-acclaimed debut album Real Talk was named “the pop-punk album of the summer” by Absolute Punk and was rated “A five-star, 10 out of 10 release” by Amp Magazine. Its latest album Heart Attack peaked at No. 46 on Billboard Top 200 and sold over 8,000 copies in its first week of release making it the band’s highest-charted album to date.

The band played alongside various rock acts such as Senses Fail, The Ghost Inside, Mayday Parade and The Early November, among others. Man Overboard played the entire Warped Tour last 2012 and the summer of this year. Man Overboard also toured the US and Europe alongside Trapped Under Ice and The Story So Far.
