Eddie, Pepe on the big screen

Eddie Ilarde and Pepe Pimentel of radio-TV fame appeared in some movies during their prime, one of them Aba…Naku.!! Puede… Ba.!! in 1963.

Eddie and Pepe were co-hosts of the long-running noontime show Student Canteen along with Leila Benitez and Bobby Ledesma. Eddie was the mellow voice behind Kahapon Lamang. Pepe was the game master in Kuarta o Kahon.

Co-starring with the two radio-TV greats in Aba…Naku.!! were Lita Gutierrez, Mila Ocampo and Bernard Bonnin.

They later joined the public service. Eddie became senator and congressman. Pepe served as barangay chairman in Quezon City. — RKC
