PULP releases double-cover May issue

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - PULP Magazine announces the release of its May 2012 double cover issue featuring Set Your Goals and We Are the In Crowd. The new generation’s two favorite bands will join This Century at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on June 2 in a concert presented by PULP Live World. Set Your Goals and We Are the In Crowd were interviewed by PULP editor-in-chief Joey Dizon and music editor Cris Ramos Jr., respectively.

PULP Live World’s Happee Sy and hardcore Cyndi Lauper fan Warren Sun recount the successful concert Cyndi Lauper Live in Manila. Read their in-depth stories of the concert, their personal interactions with Cyndi and the roots of their fandom for one of the ’80s pop icons.

Jay Contreras of Kamikazee is also featured in PULP’s Tales of the Ink segment, where he gets to tell the story behind each tattoo on his body. Dizon also gets to write a feature on the promising soul/jazz fusion band JR Oca Experience while Ramos also interviews local underground rap act The Mighty Miscellaneous.

The Black Vomits also gets its share of the spotlight on the latest issue. Ebe Dancel gets to count the most influential songs in The Hour that Changed My Life segment. Local soul music pioneer, Bing Austria, discusses new forays in promoting soul music while the How the Labels Survive story includes interviews with some of the minds running the country’s top major record labels. One can also check out the Album Reviews section, which features the latest albums from Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, local rapper D-Coy, Paul McCartney and Madonna.

PULP’s May issue is now available in all leading bookstores and magazine stands nationwide for only P150. For details, log on to www.pulpmagazinelive.com or www.pulpliveworld.com.
