A new addition to the Rancic family

MANILA, Philippines - Apparently, not even cancer can dampen the positivity of the Rancics as Giuliana and Bill have announced that they are expecting their first child. 

Due in late summer via a gestational surrogate, the baby is a blessing to the star couple after several difficult months that included Giuliana being diagnosed with breast cancer and undergoing a successful double mastectomy.

“We are thrilled that our prayers have been answered. We received an incredible amount of love and prayers from viewers around the world and we take this opportunity to thank each of them for their love,” says the E! News anchor and Fashion Police co-host. “We are absolutely ecstatic to be sharing this with everyone who has been following our journey,” adds Bill.

Several weeks ago, the couple appeared on Today and Giuliana was beaming with optimism. “I’m good,” she said, adding that she didn’t need chemotherapy. “You do what the doctors tell you to do and it’s going to be okay.” 

Bill said he is happy that their life is about to take a happy turn. He even announced that they plan to renew their wedding vows this summer. “We want to really take life on and look at it in a new light. 2012 is going to be our year.”

Indeed it is.
