Gil de Leon: Actor-director

In the ’50s, Gil de Leon was one of LVN’s top character actors, playing mostly villain roles. He was also a director, his credits included Glory at Dawn, starring Pancho Magalona and Lilia Dizon.

Offcam, Gil was Lilia’s husband; parents to Pinky, Christopher and Lara Melissa de Leon.

De Leon was the first actor to win the FAMAS Best Supporting Actor trophy for Korea (1952). In 1955, he was nominated FAMAS Best Supporting Actor for Sanda Wong.— RKC
