MANILA, Philippines - A benefit concert titled Bus Stop: Celebrating the JOY of Living will be held tonight at the Bahay ng Alumni at the UP Diliman, Quezon City, with original Pilipino music kings Heber Bartolome, Noel Cabangon and comedian Willie Nepomuceno as leading performers.
The concert, which is being held to raise funds for cancer patients and the Philippine Cancer Society is sponsored by Globe Telecoms, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Standard Insurance and six firms belonging to the Manuel V. Pangilinan Group of Companies — Maynilad, Metro Pacific, Meralco, PLDT, Philiex Mining and Smart.
Other sponsors of the three-hour event are Petron, Tanduay Standard Insurance, Inc., Malungai Life Oil, San Miguel Corp., 70s Bistro and Conspiracy Garden Cafe.
Also among the performers are Cookie Chua, Bayang Barrios, Jinky Oda, Renz Verano and Radical Change Band, according to musical director Cris Mojica.
The performers will be preceded by a dinner and an audio-video presentation on the life of a journalist.
Radio anchorman Gani Oro and Oda will be the emcees. Tickets are priced at P2,000 including dinner.
