Kris is top endorser in 2011

MANILA, Philippines - First Sibling Kris Aquino (photo) is the top celebrity endorser in 2011. Based on a study undertaken by Nielsen covering the period of January to June 2011, Kris endorsed 10 products so far this year, followed by John Lloyd Cruz with eight endorsements.

Tied for the third spot with seven endorsements each are Carmina Villaruel, Zoren Legaspi, Ryan Agoncillo, Sarah Geronimo and Vic Sotto.

With six endorsements each, Anne Curtis, Marie Lozano, Michael V and Sharon Cuneta are bunched in the fourth spot. In fifth slot with five apiece are Judy Ann Santos and Kim Chiu.

With four endorsements each, the rest of the leading celebrity endorsers are Derek Ramsay, Dingdong Dantes, KC Concepcion, Kim Atienza, Manny Pacquiao and Marian Rivera.

Nielsen director Eric Barrera said that the use of celebrity endorsers to sell products has and will always be an effective tool for advertising.

“We are still a very starstruck society,” Barrera said.
