A final look at AJ Perez on MMK

Manila, Philippines - Viewers will have a final look at the late AJ Perez (photo, right) in tonight’s Maalaala Mo Kaya episode, which he taped before meeting his tragic end last April 17.

The promising young actor died instantly in a vehicular accident after gracing an ABS-CBN event celebrating the Bangus Festival of Dagupan City. 

In the episode, AJ plays a homeless and orphaned 17-year-old, who decides to travel all the way to Samar with his 11-year-old brother Dagul (played by Bugoy Cariño) to search for relatives.

The brothers had no money, no food and had to walk more than 500 kilometers. Along the way, they met people who helped them with their journey but it was their presence and love for each other that strengthened and gave them the determination to finish the journey.

The MMK episode, which is directed by Dado Lumibao and written by Benson Logronio, marks the end of AJ’s showbiz journey.
