Jack Daniel's reveals the Chosen 7

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Jack Daniel’s in its long-standing association with music worldwide and here in the Philippines, heeds the call of the independent artist. After months of searching for great talent during the latter end of 2010, Jack Daniel’s the JD Set series finally launched the Qualifying Tour last Feb. 4. The JD Set gave the spotlight to 13 underground bands to get their music heard. The 13 hand-picked bands are Blue Boy Bites Back, Mr. Bones and the Boneyard Circus, Paramita, Playphonics, Kelevra, Black Manika, Fade Into Oblivion, Cosmic Love, Freia, Stories of Now, Thy Holy Water, Paranoid City and Jack Versus the Crab.

Selected bands had to come up with an awe-inspiring performance to make their initial mark. The following weeks were dedicated to a series of events called the Long Sets that gave them enough liberty to do what they please with their originals and personal take on covers.

Now the wait is finally over. With a seven month-long tour up for grabs for seven deserving bands, Jack Daniel’s is all geared up to announce its Chosen 7 tonight at the JD Set Philippine Reveal Night in Whitespace, Makati.

Witness the killer sets of Jack’s Chosen 7 alongside the send-off performance by one of the country’s most recognized band, Urbandub as they get ready to represent the Philippines at the Jack Daniel’s SEAsian Music Festival in Bali, Indonesia. The grand draw for two lucky winners to go with Urbandub to Bali and watch Good Charlotte Live takes place on the same night.

The event is presented by The Philippine STAR, Rogue Magazine, Odysseylive.net, Splintr.com, Atthewomb.com, BusinessMirror, Circuit Magazine, Manila Concert Scene, DigRadio.ph, Jam88.3, Sonic Boom Philippines and Betamaximum, Inc.
