The Road to the Crown: The 2011 Bb. Pilipinas Pre-Pageant Night

MANILA, Philippines - The countdown to the crown continued with the 2011 Bb. Pilipinas 2011 Pre-Pageant Night held recently at Republiq in Resorts World Manila, Parañaque City.

 Titled The Road to the Crown, the party was an exclusive “by invitation” affair for the pageant’s directors, VIPs and corporate sponsors.

A highlight of the event, hosted by Borgy and TJ Manotoc along with Miss Universe Philippines Venus Raj, was the parade of the 40 official candidates in stylized Filipiniana gowns designed by the country’s different leading designers.

The Road to the Crown also features the activities that the girls have been engaged in since they passed the initial screenings last January. These include the fashion show at the Gateway Mall, talent competition at the New Ali Mall, charity and outreach visits to CRIBS and other institutions, fashion and beauty workshops conducted by Bb. Pilipinas former queen-turned-stylist and beauty coach Nina Ricci Alagao and Jennifer Barrientos, and the TVC shoot for Cream Silk among other products. The pageant’s media partner ABS-CBN also unveiled the finished products of a glossy photo shoot conducted by Niccolo Cosme and styled by Bang Pineda. BPCI and Cumbia provided the outfits and accessories.

 Among the guests were Arturo Marquez, member of the Bb. Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI’s) executive board; and past Bb. Pilipinas (1969 Miss Universe Gloria Diaz, et al) and present title-holders including (aside from Venus) Bb. Pilipinas-International Krista Kleiner, Bb. Pilipinas-World Czarina Gatbonton.

 Yesterday afternoon, the candidates along with the reigning queens participated in a grand Parade of Beauties around the Araneta Center. The grand coronation night will be held at the Big Dome on April 10 and aired live on ABS-CBN. Bb. Pilipinas 2011’s corporate partners are Cream Silk, Nestlé Fitnesse, Megaworld Corporation, Philippine Airlines, David’s Salon and Hotel Sofitel.
