Cinema One screening sked

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The grand launch of Cinema One Originals was formally opened with the presence of the seven filmmakers, their cast and crew, former participants and industry friends. Cinema One channel head Ronald Arguelles said, “Six years and 37 movies since we launched Cinema One Originals, may we now drop the largely arbitrary distinction between independent movies and mainstream movies and just concentrate on making good-to-great films? In recent years Filipino cinema has been sustained and rejuvenated by the energy and vision of young independent filmmakers. The international film festival circuit has seen what we’re capable of, and given due praise. What remains now is for filmmakers to communicate their passion to the movie audience, to bring them back into the fold and create a true community of cinema.”
