May shows on 2nd Avenue

MANILA, Philippines - 2nd Avenue brings summer delights with its program line-up this month.

Catch Simon Baker, the sexiest man on TV, as The Mentalist premieres tomorrow, May 6. Working as police consultant, his perceptive take on the world combined with a little psychic ability aids him in cracking cases. He hopes to bring his wife’s and daughter’s murderer to justice.

The Philippine premiere of Rita Rocks is on May 9, 6 p.m. Rita is a hardworking mom and wife who splits her time between rearing her kids and managing the house. She prays that she can have just a few hours a week to herself. Upon finding her old guitar, she and a friend start up a jam session. Soon, they are joined by a neighbor, the small woman and her daughter’s boyfriend for nightly rehearsals. Rita Rocks stars Nicole Sullivan, Richard Ruccolo and Kelly Gould.

Royal Pains, a medical drama, unfolds on May 11. Hank Lawson (Mark Feuerstein) is a young doctor blamed for a patient’s death. He moves to Hampstons to begin a new life. While adjusting to his new environment, he becomes a reluctant “doctor for hire” to the rich and famous.

Summer Hit Movies airs Saturday nights at 9. Édward Scissorhands airs May 8; A Good Year, May 15; Charlie Wilson’s War, May 22; and Little Miss Sunshine, May 29.
