Glee promises more singing and dancing

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Glee, Golden Globe winner for Best Comedy/Musical, makes a comeback this season with new twists and turns and more musical numbers that will make you stay tuned on Wednesdays with a telecast via satellite at 4 p.m. on etc and primetime airing at 8 p.m on Jack tv and 10 p.m. on etc. Below is an interview with cast member Cory Monteith:

Now when you were filming the first 13 episodes it was pretty much in a bubble, there were no reviews. Now that you are filming and you know how people are responding to it, has that affected how the show goes into production?

”I don’t think so. I think there may be more of an outside pressure but I think that the reasons that the storylines are written, they come from a very small circle of people. So I think that that has remained intact.”

Is it true that you didn’t really sing or dance before Glee?

“It’s very true. I’d only sang in the car and in the shower, places like that. And dancing? Forget about it. If you’d told me I would have been dancing on a television show to the entire world a few years ago, I would have laughed you out of the room.”

I just wanted to talk a bit more about the guest stars, the ones that we’ve had and the ones coming up, and what you’re opinion was when you got to work with them. Who were some of your favorites?

“Kristin Chenoweth was an absolute, absolute standout. Just the level of work that she brings and how innately talented that woman is, is shocking. I think to all of us, and it’s inspiring to all of us also because that’s where I want to be. Obviously I don’t want to be 5’2” and blonde, but I want to perform with that kind of conviction. She was wonderful and a wonderful person. But I can’t tell you of a bad experience we’ve had with any of the guest stars so far in the show. As I’ve said before, I’m very excited about Neil Patrick Harris joining our show for an episode. I think it’s going to be brilliant. And Joss Whedon is directing him and I think that that is a terrific combination. I read some of his stuff and it’s very, very funny.”

Well in the Madonna episode, I’m assuming she doesn’t make an appearance, but have you guys had any feedback from her? Or did you have to get permission?

“Oh, there’s a lot of permission to be got I’m sure. But we haven’t had feedback quite yet, so if you’re reading this Madonna you can just let us know. Let us know when it comes out.”

And what about Olivia Newton John?

”I hear she was terrific. She was there for one day on set doing her part in the episode, and I wasn’t there so I unfortunately missed her. But once again everybody said she was delightful.”

Getting back to your character this season. He’s sort of always been defined by being with one woman or being in love with another. Would you like to see him kind of on his own, and do you think we’ll get the chance to do that this season maybe

“I definitely think that that’s definitely something that’s explored in the top of the back nine. In the top of what happens. I think it’s going to be interesting after how much wrong has been done him to sort of explore how quickly he forgives and forgets.”
