Star Magic invades the US

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Filipinos in New York and California are bracing for the much-anticipated concert of some of the brightest names in Philippine cinema, TV and recording, whom they have been following all these years on The Filipino Channel.

Heartthrobs & Friends U.S. Concert Tour is topbilled by the Piolo Pascual, Sam Milby, John Lloyd Cruz, Bea Alonzo, Pokwang, Richard Poon, Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson.

The artists will begin their three-city US tour on March 27 at the Event Center Arena at San Jose State University, San Jose, California.

It will be followed on March 28 at the San Diego Civic Theatre in San Diego, California, before the entourage head to New York City for their March 31 performance at the Manhattan Center.

The Big Apple leg of the concert, presented by East Village Productions headed by Ritz Brinas and Teresita Toledo, will also feature local artists Lianah Sta. Ana and Jonny Cruz.

Len Ynfante, a Jersey City, New Jersey mom, said she and her husband Rico and son Jay have already bought tickets to see their favorite stars in the flesh.

“We followed Piolo in Lobo and Sam, Bea and John Lloyd in Maging Sino Ka Man, and we followed Kimerald in My Girl and now in Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo,” said Len. “We can’t believe we will be able to see them in person kaya okey lang kahit may pasok kinabukasan at mapuyat kami.”

Filipino Reporter’s Albert Ignacio, who is helping in the promotion of the concert, said the producers (Ritz and Teresita) are also getting inquiries from some non-Filipinos curious about the Filipino stars.
