Emma Alegre: LVN leading lady

One of the leading ladies of LVN in the ’50s was Emma Alegre, paired with the studio’s top actors, among them Rogelio dela Rosa and Mario Montenegro.

In 1955, Emma starred opposite Rogelio dela Rosa in the acclaimed drama Higit sa Lahat, winning awards at the Asian Film Festival and FAMAS.

The Rogelio-Emma tandem was reunited in the 1956 movie Idolo. In the same year, Emma was paired with Mario Montenegro in Everlasting, co-starring Carmencita Abad.

Emma and Mario also co-starred in Pilipino Kustom — No Touch!, with Leroy Salvador and Medalyong Perlas.  — RKC
