When a restobar is named after the eternal and golden number phi, a figure used and venerated by numerous artists and architects since the Renaissance, expect dining to be pleasurable and divine. The golden number phi is the ratio of all measurements in everything found in the universe, from shapes as simple as seashells to complicated matters such as the DNA and human body. Just as everything contains phi, Metro Phi Restobar is the multi-function venue that has everything needed to make a great, extraordinary event.

Metro Phi Restobar is the best and hippest party place where everything is designed and made to perfection. It is fully equipped with music and entertainment system that can compete with the country’s best.

The bar opens to a spacious fine dining area at the ground floor with provisions for an intimate music performance to complement its exquisite food, carefully prepared by the meticulous executive chef Jesse Paredes.

The restobar’s VIP room at the second floor comfortably accommodates 80 persons for exclusive functions. Here, high-energy musical performances put the audience in the mood for party until sun-up, while diners at the first floor watch exciting happenings from the widescreen monitor hooked to the room’s audio-visual system, enjoying original cocktails and signature drinks from the bar.

Metro Phi Restobar features different artists and bands every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the second floor and acoustic performers daily at the ground floor. Among the bar’s roster of celebrated and rising artists are Fil-American Pop Jewel Amber Davis, the sexy singing sensation with the chart topper single Manila from the debut album Feel Good Music performing every Wednesday;  king of R ’n B Luke Mejares who led Metro Phi’s love month celebration this year with his soulful ballads, and Meagan Aguilar. Seasoned lounge singer Mai Andres, singer-songwriter, pianist and sax player Margarita, soloist Jerome Rico, resident crooner OJ Mariano, R ’n B and hip-hop bands NTwine and Tribe of Levi, the  musical and comedy group Ministix, and singing duo Reminisce also perform at Metro Phi Restobar.

The place, with its great fusion cuisine, has on its menu sumptuous items and fillers, complementing Asian and Western cuisine fit for the discriminating palate. Metro Phi’s cooking has enjoyed good reviews. Among the favorites are the light, tasty Sesame Tofu Salad, flavorful Curry Shrimp with Rice,  gourmet Mexican Caesar Salad, Salsa Cruda and, for the more daring, crisp, savory Jalapeño croquettes. Signature drinks and desserts, like the popular Green Tea Cheesecake, are also served.

Behind Metro Phi Restobar’s exquisite menu is executive chef Zosimo Jesus Paredes III or Jesse. A graduate of Food Service at O.B. Montessori College and Business Administration at University of Asia and the Pacific, Chef Jesse says Metro Phi’s delightful, tempting and adventurous gastronomical choices come from his 10 years of culinary experience at celebrated restaurants, where he learned to perfect the fusion of diverse flavors from the east and west.

While taking up Food Service, Chef Jesse fine-tuned his culinary skills at Italian, Vietnamese and Filipino restaurants. He did so well that when he graduated, he was ripe for the picking. He joined two acclaimed restaurants as head chef and supervisor. His business education wasn’t put into waste though. For the next two years, he managed a co-owned burger joint in Cainta, Rizal.

Aside from overseeing kitchen preparations at Metro Phi, Chef Jesse acts as food and operations consultant for another café. In between  regular cooking commitments, he still finds time to work as production staff and caterer for events.

At  29, Chef Jesse has bagged awards — testaments to his uncanny skill in fusion cooking. In 2002, he was the Silver Medalist for the Live Pasta Noodles Cooking Competition in Chef’s On Parade, and Culinary Grand Prix Silver Medalist, Regional Finals for the CaterPlan Dream Team Challenge.

When Metro Phi Restobar hosts exclusive functions and events, Chef Jesse prepares  the best meals for his guests, checking that each dish and flavor is served to perfection. Chef Jesse is happiest and the most fulfilled when guests take pleasure in Metro Phi Bar’s food. Many guests who frequent the restobar admire his culinary flair, and the praises he receives inspire him to whip up even more exciting entrees, creating a promise of a divine dining experience for everyone.
