A story of faith

Seasoned actress Sandy Andolong was diagnosed with different physical ailments a few years ago. But because of her unwavering faith in the Lord and the "healing gift" of His servant, Fr. Joey Faller, Sandy is miraculously healed.

This is the inspiring story of Sandy, a devoted mother to her children and wife to local cinema’s multi-awarded actor Christopeher de Leon.

In 2003, after her television series ended, Sandy experienced depression, causing her to feel physically ill. In July of the same year, she was confined in a hospital to remedy the onset of dehydration due to vomiting. After consulting her doctors, she was told that she had five different ailments – kidney maladies; her large intestines had lacerations; her uterus was inflamed; there was a polyp in her gall bladder and her pituitary gland had a disorder resulting to abnormal lactation. Some of these ailments needed major and delicate operations.

Faithful as she is even in the midst of trying times like these, Sandy gladly welcomed the image of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal in their home upon the suggestion of a friend.

Through this and other people’s prayers, Sandy felt that her healing had started.

The culmination of her healing came when Candy, Rez Cortez’s wife, convinced Sandy to go the Grotto of Healing and Purification of the Kamay ni Hesus Healing Miracle in Lucban, Quezon to meet Reverend Fr. Joey Faller for a pray-over session. Upon entering the church, both Sandy and Candy felt the immense power of the Holy Spirit. When it was Sandy’s turn to be healed, she unconsciously fell to the ground because she was slain in spirit. Through his God-given gift of discernment, Fr. Joey talked to her and told her she was going to be better for the Lord has healed her.

True enough, because of Sandy’s faith that God has healed her through Fr. Joey’s hands, all tests she underwent thereafter produced negative results. She is well now, free from all pre-diagnosed physical ailments.

Presently, Sandy takes medication and follows a regimented diet to prevent future stress and damage to her body. But most of all, she maintains a strengthened and unwavering relationship with the Lord.

This healing is proof that one’s faith can make miracles happen and that God’s love heals.

The Grotto of Healing and Purification of the Kamay ni Hesus Healing Miracle, which started construction in 2002 and has been recently completed with the help of those who have unselfishly devoted their time, talents and treasure for the completion of this project, is a beautiful place carved on a mountainside where Christians can see images depicting the paschal mystery of Christ.

As you climb the 280 steps and reach the 50 feet-image of the ascending Christ on top of the hill, believers are awed not just by the view but also of the sanctity of this wonderful place.

Fr. Joey Faller, spiritual director of the Healing Center, envisioned the grotto to be a means for people to commune with God and to have a place where faith of believers can be constantly strengthened.

Today, the Grotto of Healing and Purification stands as one of the newest and most awe-inspiring sights in Lucban as it continuously opens its doors to devotees. It is where the faithful can come to attend healing Masses and spend time to meditate and pray.
