Gerald Anderson leads Star Magic ballers vs Thai stars in exhibition match

MANILA, Philippines — Team Star Magic will take on GMMTV stars in an anticipated basketball exhibition match featuring Filipino heartthrobs facing off with Thailand's hottest actors. 

Leading the Team Star Magic Shooting Stars is playing coach Gerald Anderson in the match taking place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on August 23. 

"This is going to be an amazing event. ABS-CBN is still proving that even with all the challenges we went through, we are still the number one company and continue to break records. I've been doing this for so long, but to be part of this specific one is really a privilege. This is two cultures coming together," Gerald said during the match's recent press conference. 

Gerald emphasized that this year's All-Star Games go beyond competition, highlighting sportsmanship, collaboration, and cultural exchange between the Philippines and Thailand.

Joining the media conference virtually from Bangkok were GMMTV's popular twin actors AJ Jutamas and JJ Jutamas, who expressed their excitement about facing Team Star Magic.

Apart from Gerald, Team Star Magic Shooting Stars is also represented by Ronnie Alonte, Jeremiah Lisbo, Emilio Daez, River Joseph, Ashton Salvador, Argel Saycon, Elyson De Dios, JV Kapunan, Tristan Ramirez, and reigning Rookie of the Year JM Ibarra.

They will face Team GMMTV Thailand, composed of AJ, JJ, Neo, Joss, Gawin, Ryu, Aston, Marc, Ping and Teshow.

Beyond the international basketball showcase, the Star Magic All-Star Games 2026 will also feature the Junior Basketball Game and the Volleyball Game.

The Junior Basketball Game will spotlight Star Magic's rising young talents.

Team Blue, joined by Jeremiah Lisbo, features Iñigo Jose, Fred Moser, Dustin Mayores, Jan Silva, Dylan Yturralde, Binsoy Namoca, Bryce Andres, Rocky Labayen, Ice Almeria, and Rave Victoria. 

They will face Team Red, composed of Seth Fedelin, Joaquin Arce, Josh Worsley, Marc Santiago, Lance Lucido, Andrez Del Rosario, Miggy Jimenez, Marc Nanninga, Rob Blackburn, Russu Laurente, JP Cabrera, and Robbie Jaworski.

Meanwhile, the Volleyball Game promises an action-packed clash between the Lady Warriors Blue Team and the Lady Spikers Red Team. 

Captained by Ball Reign Parani, the Lady Warriors Blue Team includes Jas Dudley-Scales, Kolette Madelo, Loisa Andalio, Anji Salvacion, Isabel Laohoo, Aya Fernandez, Janah Zaplan, Leona Andalio, and Rain Celmar. 

Facing them is the Lady Spikers Red Team, bannered by Lella Ford, Vivoree, and all-time MVP Analain Salvador, alongside Magui Ford, Ai Dela Cruz, Gillian Vicencio, Sophie Reyes, and Fyang Smith.
