Consolacion, Danao stay unbeaten in Governor's Cup

CEBU, Philippines — Defending North division champion Consolacion Sarok Weavers and Danao City kept their unbeaten records intact in the 2nd Cebu Governor's Cup 2018 Inter-Cities and Municipalities Under-21 Developmental Basketball Tournament.

Consolacion stormed to its fourth straight win after crushing Compostela, 104-83, while Danao won by forfeiture over Carmen to stay perfect in three starts.

Mandaue City, on the other hand, kept its quarterfinal bid alive in North Bracket 1 after trouncing Compostela, 86-62.

With a 2-1 record, Mandaue needs to beat Danao and Consolacion in its last two games to bolster its chances of making it into the next round.

In North Bracket 2, San Francisco pummeled Tudela, 110-50, in a battle among Camotes Island teams, while Nino Joshua Caballero sparkled with 33 points as Borbon escaped past Sogod, 95-92. San Francisco and Borbon now hold 2-0 cards and are just a win away from booking a quarterfinal ticket. (EBV)
