Medellin spikers outlast Danao
CEBU, Philippines — Medellin belles survived a strong start from Danao City as they rally to clinch their first victory in the North division quarterfinals round of the 2018 Cebu Governor's Cup Inter-Cities and Municipalities Under-18 Developmental Volleyball Tournament yesterday at the Liloan Municipal gym.9
Danao looked solid in the opening set after a barrage of points resulting to a dominating 25-15 output, but Medellin spikers were unperturbed as they kept their composure to bounce back in the ensuing set, 25-21.
In the deciding set, Medellin went all out as they proved to be more efficient on offense with a 25-20 victory.
Like Medellin, Mandaue also pulled off a thrilling victory at the expense of Liloan, 20-25, 25-19, 25-19.
The home team launched an offensive onslaught in the beginning, 25-20, but Mandaue spikers fired back taking the next two sets, 25-19, 25-19.
Meanwhile, Catmon belles easily dispatched Tabogon, 25-10, 25-23.
The north division quarterfinals series continue today at the Tabogon Municipal gym as the home team battles Mandaue City, while Medellin faces Catmon as Liloan duels with Danao.
