MS Motosuit Moto-x Series: Naga to host 13th leg today

CEBU, Philippines - After more than a month of inactivity, local dirtbikers get back on the racetrack with the staging of the 13th leg of the 2009 MS Motosuit Motocross Series today in Naga, Cebu.

Dubbed as the Enan Mendiola Chiong Memorial Motocross Competition, at least 70 riders from all over Cebu plus some visiting daredevils from the Vis-Min region are set to see action in the lung-busting race.

Among the top riders to watch out for are Jon-Jon Adlawan, the equally-aggressive Abellar brothers Jovanni and Jubenile of PowerSports Racing Team, crowd-darling John Flores, Bonnie Bustillo, Dongkey Sanchez, Paulo Inoc, Weng and Ambo Yapparcon and Rex Barbaso among others.

Reigning Rider of the Year’ Seigfred Ornopia, on the other, is raring to showcase his maneuvering skills. He is expected to face tough challenge from the likes of Nonoy Reluya, former of San Fernando, and Jun Enriquez to name a few in the executive division.

Aside from the top honors, the participants also aim to collect more points they needed for the overall standings that will be the basis for the selection of the coveted ‘Rider of the Year’ award in the Castrol Power One, MS Motocross TV and GS Battery-supported event.

Meanwhile, MS Motosuit big boss Lou Ornopia looks forward to a bigger and better series next year. Ornopia said he already had initial talks with Manila-based organizers who are keen on tying up with him in staging a nationwide motocross series.

“Sige pa ang among negotiations karon para mas mapadako pa ang atong lumba next year. We will be joining forces soon with this organization that plans to hold bigger series nationwide. Some details are still in the process of fine tuning, but rest assured we will be having a much bigger event next year,” said Ornopia in a press statement.   (FREEMAN NEWS)
