Cordova to host crossover semis of M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala caging

CEBU, Philippines – Four teams fight four dear life today in the crossover semifinals of the 1st M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala Cup basketball tournament at the Cordova Sports Complex.

Games today (Cordova Sports Complex)

7 pm Binglens vs. ACT

8:30 pm Ave Maria vs. Chazyl Mae

In the first game set at 7 pm, Binglens will go up against the Asian College of Technology (ACT) Cyber Knights, while topseed Ave Maria Sanctuary Park squares off against Chazyl Mae in the main game at 8:30 pm.

Ave Maria is manned by former and present crop of the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars in the mold of Luther Luke Justiniani, Manny Gabas, Armand Ponce, Bobby Hatague, and John Malinao.

Chazy Mae, on the other hand, is composed of former pro Jimwell Toriton and commercial veterans Alano Caputolan and Michael Luga. Beefing up their roster is collegiate standout Eric Zanoria of Southwestern University (SWU) Cobras.

For their part, Bingles is comprised of former commercial mainstays in the likes of Jessie Lumantas, Max Delantes, Michael Dumdum and Whitey Almonte.

The winners of the double knockout match will clash for the championship this Sunday at the Talisay Sports Complex.

Organized by M. Lhuillier through its marketing representative Michael Roma, the champion will receive P50,000. The second placer will take home P30,000, while the third and fourth will get P15,000 and P5,000, respectively.

Entrance is free. Aside from that, there will also be halftime games and giveaways courtesy of M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala. – EBV (THE FREEMAN)
