CEBU - A non-stop action and amazing car sound system and set-up is being guaranteed by the organizers of the Cebu Auto and Racing Show (C.A.R.S) at the Park Mall in Mandaue City reclamation area beginning this Thursday until the 11th of the month.

The first two days will be for the car show and sound off according to the organizers during the event’s press conference at Pier 1 also in Park Mall.

Competition in the car show include the best in show, paint, interior and engine display, best in stock, best dressed, best European, Japanese, American and classic, while the sound-off contest will have the 2-way and 3-way categories.

To make things tougher and more exciting, there will be eight drivers from Davao that will challenge the Cebuanos in the autocross.

There will also be a special award for the best club that makes the competition even thrilling.

The next two days, on the other hand, will be for karting and autocross events.

The practice run for karting and autocross will be done in the morning of January 10 and the trials in the afternoon. The final run will be on the 11th.

To avoid confusion among the race car drivers and karters during the final day, the organizers will be doing the autocross in the morning and karting in the afternoon.

As far as karting is concerned, the battle at Park Mall will serve as the first leg of the 2009 Kartzone Series even if it is not staged at its resident racetrack in Panagdait, Brgy. Mabolo. – Caecent No-ot Magsumbol   (THE FREEMAN)
