DOTR chief, Rama to tackle CBRT, CPA issues

CEBU, Philippines — Cebu City Mayor Mike Rama and Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime Bautista are set to meet tomorrow to discuss the Cebu Bus Rapid Transit (CBRT) project, as well as the city s ongoing battle with the Cebu Port Authority (CPA).

Rama said the Transportation Secretary himself called him up  to confirm that he is coming, and the discussion will be BRT and CPA.

The CPA, which has been at odds with the Cebu City government, is also expected to be in the meeting.

While stressing on its autonomy, CPA is an attached agency under DOTr.

Aside from the issue on CPA, on the agenda to be discussed is the CBRT project that had been experiencing further delays after some objections from Cebu Provincial officials and LGUs under it.

I want this whole thing resolved, because there are matters to be resolved,  Mayor Rama said, over his regular program  Ingna'ng Mayor.

Rama stressed that he wants all issues to end well.

I have never been a negative player. I m a positive thinker,  said Mayor Rama, adding that he wants harmony to prevail, especially with Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia and other LGU officials also getting involved in other concerns, from the CPA and CBRT concerns, to the MCWD issue lately.
