CEBU, Philippines — The Police Regional Office (PRO)-7 will be intensifying security measures for the celebration of the Chinese New Year, as well as still implement anti-crime operations.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Gerard Ace Pelare, spokesperson for PRO-7, said they have instructed all anti-crime units to continue with their operations while they also heighten security for the Chinese New Year.

Anti-crime operations include those on illegal drugs, illegal gambling, operations against wanted persons, among others.

“Manakop ang atong kapulisan while nagbantay ta aron ma-make sure nato nga malinawon ang pag-celebrate sa Chinese New Year,” stated Pelare.

Police Brigadier General Anthony Aberin, regional director of PRO-7, has also given instructions to the provincial director and city director to intensify security measures in identified areas where a crowd would converge, Pelare said.
