P50 trillion dangled for cop killers’ arrest

Romeo D. Marantal - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines —  A private individual has offered a P50,000 reward for anyone who can give information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects in the killing of Police Corporal Ryan Languido Baculi.

The private person did not identify himself but the public can contact cellphone number 0960 313 5618 if they have information on the whereabouts of the suspects.

The two suspects were identified as Atong Rafols and Ramil Salazar alias Namol.

Acting as poseur-buyer cop, Baculi was shot by the subject of the buy-bust operation in Barangay Kinasang-an, Cebu City.

Inayawan barangay captain Kirk Bryan Repollo, through a post on his Facebook page, assured that their tanods allegedly involved in the incident are always there and ready to appear if their presence is needed.

“Ato usab gipanegurado sa kapulisan ang atong 100% nga PAGSUPPORTA ug KOOPERASYON para sa kasulbaran niining kasoha..Dili kita moundang sa pakig-alayon kanila bisan unsa pa mang orasa,” part of Repollo’s post.

The Police Regional Office (PRO)-7 thanked Barangay Inayawan for their commitment and cooperation.

“Yes, their cooperation in the investigation will be crucial to know whether or not the actions made by the said tanods were intended to facilitate the escape of the suspects. Ato ra na mahibaw-an after the conduct of the investigation,” said Police Lt. Col. Gerard Ace Pelare, spokesperson of PRO-7.

Following this, the Cebu Police Provincial Office (CPPO) also sent a person to PRO-7 to assist in the hot pursuit operation.

The CPPO also alerted all the police stations in the Province of Cebu to prevent the two suspects from leaving the island.

“Kinahanglan ang atong kapulisan, operatives nato andam sa ingon ani nga sitwasyon mao na akong gimanduan atong kapulisan sa Cebu Police Provincial Office nga kanunay mag-dry fire, tan-awon ang ilahang gamit, andam ba sila ug kinahanglan ampo ta kanunay,” warned Police Colonel Percival Zorilla, CPPO director, to his men.

Meanwhile, Drug Enforcement Unit of the Talisay City Police Station led by Police Lt. Col. Wayne Magbanua arrested two individuals during a buy-bust operation Thursday night in Purok Matinomanon, Palm View Village, Barangay Tabunok in the said city.

The arrested persons are Noe Alfoque Enjambre, 52, married, the target of the operation, and Algen Malinao Cabañero, 47, married, all residents of Barangay Bulacao, Talisay City.

During the buy-bust operation, Enjambre was caught with several packs of shabu weighing 425 in a belt bag worth nearly P3 million.

Cabañero was found with a .9mm sub-machine pistol with five bullets.

Enjambre is said to be a "bodegero" who keeps one kilo of illegal drugs and disposes it at the same time.

His source of illegal drugs was from a certain "Jake" who is currently detained in the New Bilibid Prison and has a confidant named "Pluto" who is also detained in the Cebu City Jail and conducts operation in Cebu.

Allegedly, Pluto is the one who gives instruction on where, when and who will be given the illegal drugs.

Their mode of transactions is through mobile phone and the remittance is sent directly through GCash to their disposers.

They operate mostly in Cebu City and Talisay City.

The suspect was previously arrested for illegal drugs in year 2006 by the operatives of the Talisay City Police Station and was released after posting bail and for availing the plea bargaining. (CEBU NEWS)
