Manhunt ordered against cop killers
CEBU, Philippines — Police Regional Office (PRO-7) chief Brigadier General Anthony Aberin has ordered a manhunt operation against the two drug suspects who killed a police operative during a buy-bust operation Wednesday in Sitio Pagtambayayong, Barangay Kinasang-an, Cebu City.
Aberin vowed that justice will be served to the family of Police Corporal Ryan Languido Baculi, a member of the Regional Anti-Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU). The regional police commander has directed all police stations in Central Visayas to help and ensure the immediate arrest of Atong Rafols and Ramil Salazar alias Namol.
“Nahibalo mi nga dili madugay makab-ot ra nato atong hustisya ug ang among assurance sa katawhan ang inyong Police Regional Office-7 dili moundang hangtud atong madala sa hustisya kining duha ka criminal nga naghimo niini,” said Lt. Col. Gerard Ace Pelare, Aberin’s spokesperson.
Baculi was among the anti-narcotics operatives who conducted a buy-bust operation against Rafols and Salazar early dawn on Wednesday. He served as poseur buyer during the operation but the suspects found out his identity and shot him several times.
Baculi was rushed to ACE Medical Center where he was declared dead on arrival by the attending doctor. Despite the incident, PRO-7 assured that there will be no letup in the campaign against illegal drugs.
The family of Baculi was also assured of getting the full benefits due to a fallen hero.
