Men caught stealing P200 thousand worth of cable copper wires
CEBU, Philippines — At least one was arrested and three ran away after they were caught in the act of cutting and stealing 2,000 pieces of PLDT copper cable wires on Tuesday night, November 7, 2023, along Sitio C. Mina Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City.
The person arrested was identified as Mike Minguito, 23, from the area, while his accomplices were identified as Jay-ar Codizar, Bebit Lapinid, and John Pasumo.
According to the complainant, PLDT, represented by Rajooh Advani, the team head of the company's Asset Provider Division, the men were caught in the act of cutting the copper wires.
The four were able to get 2,000 pairs of wires worth P144,133; 400 pairs worth P28,422.05, 300 pairs worth P21,282 and 200 pairs worth P14,990.05. In total, over P208,828 worth of wires were stolen, but was recovered back when they were caught.
Minguito, who is currently in the custodial facility of Mabolo Police Station 4, will be charged with theft. — /ATO (FREEMAN)
