Carbon vendors from far-flung towns can now use the 24-hour sleeping quarter that provides a safe, clean, and decent place to stay.

CEBU, Philippines — The Carbon Market sleeping quarter and pay showers are now open starting today, October 25.

Carbon vendors from far-flung towns can now use the 24-hour sleeping quarter that provides a safe, clean, and decent place to stay.

It can be observed that for so long vendors from different areas just sleep in open areas within Cebu City’s most famous market.

According to the Carbon Market management, in statement, a total of 50 beds with pillow and blanket provisions, are ready for use by the public.

It said that male and female rooms are separated. Rates will range from P150 (upper deck) to P200 (lower deck) for an eight-hour use of every bunk bed in the air-conditioned rooms.

Pay showers are also installed for vendors and market-goers. There will be 18 pay showers (9 for male and 9 for female). Payment is P5 per minute.

All these facilities are located on the 3rd floor of the Carbon Interim Building.

A bigger sleeping quarter and pay shower facilities also await everyone at the soon-to-be-constructed main public market building.

The management said that those who choose to avail of these facilities can be assured of a 100-percent backup power supply.

Lockers are also provided while closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras are being installed in the reception area as an additional security feature.

“These new facilities are part of the ongoing efforts to bring the Carbon community to a conducive market experience for every stakeholder,” it added. — (FREEMAN)
