Mandaue cops seize P6.8M worth of drugs

CEBU, Philippines —  A high value individual was arrested with one kilogram of shabu worth P6.8 million during a buy-bust operation Saturday night in Pilit, Cabancalan, Mandaue City.

The operation was conducted by the Station Drug Enforcement Unit of the Casuntingan Police Station 4 of the Mandaue City Police Office led by Police Major Mikhail Mallorca.

The arrested person was identified as Noel Metante Borbajo, alias Tolyo, 43, a resident of Purok Nangka, Barangay Tawason in the city.

Mallorca said that they have been monitoring Borbajo’s illegal activities for two to three weeks.

During the operation, they did not expect that Borbajo was carrying a lot of illegal drugs where they put it in a backpack where they transacted 25 grams.

The authorities recovered nine large packs of 100 grams, three of 25 grams and five of five grams weighing one kilo.

The arrested person is currently detained in the PS4 jail facility to be charged with violation of Section 5 and 11 of Article II of Republic Act 9165.
