Man hacks nephew in Cambinocot

CEBU, Philippines - A 22-year-old laborer was injured after he was hacked by his own uncle yesterday afternoon in sitio Mahayahay, Barangay Cambinocot, Cebu City.

Arnel Lazarito suffered hack wounds in his left ear, head, and left arm and was immediately rushed to Cebu City Medical Center where he is confined.

The suspect, Juan Bajao, 40, surrendered to the barangay officials after the incident.

Initial investigation shows that around 3 p.m. yesterday, Lazarito was suddenly attacked by Bajao without any provocation. The victim was able to evade the initial attack but the suspect continued hacking him.

Personal grudge was eyed as motive in the attack because the victim was earlier accused of pelting stones at the suspect’s son. The police are now preparing criminal complaint against the suspect. (FREEMAN)
