Woman stabs husband over family business
CEBU, Philippines - A woman stabbed her own husband during an argument over the family’s business last Saturday afternoon in Barangay Northern Poblacion in San Francisco, Camotes.
The husband, Samuel Andrade, 48, sustained a stab wound on his back. He was first taken to the Ricardo Maningo District Hospital but was later referred to a hospital in Cebu City for further medication.
The wife, Lorna Andrade, 49, voluntarily surrendered to the police. She is currently detained at the San Francisco police stockade. PO2 Ronjy Cidro said she will be released tomorrow, Tuesday, as Samuel reportedly refused to file charges against her.
Cidro said the couple was drinking inside their house and was discussing the proceeds of their business. Both are meat vendors at the town’s public market. The argument reportedly started when the two were already intoxicated.
Lorna reportedly went into the kitchen, returned with a knife, and stabbed her husband on the back.
“Wa na magkasinabot siguro sa ilang kita maong galalis,” Cidro said.
No evidence, however, was recovered from the crime scene. — (FREEMAN)
