Noynoy meets UV and USJ-R students

CEBU, Philippines - Senator Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III met with the students of two big schools in Cebu yesterday to lay down his plans for the country. Aquino, the standard bearer of the Liberal Party, visited the University of the Visayas (UV) and the University of San Jose Recoletos (USJR).

Aquino was warmly welcomed not only by the youth but also the school officials.

He thanked Rep. Eduardo Gullas, president of UV, who welcomed him to their school and told the students how much he admires the senator.

“Sa isang taong hindi bolero at ginagalang namin, yung mga sinabi niya ay isang malaking bagay,” Aquino said about Gullas.

He also expressed that he has been continuously gaining confidence as he has gone around the country seeing the support being thrown to him and his running mate Senator Manuel ‘Mar’ Roxas.

“Itong movement namin ay pagbabago sa bansa. Kahit mawala man ako sa eksena dahil di nako physically able, tuloy pa rin yon. And itinutulak na talaga ng tao ay yung pagbabago,” Aquino said.

He said that he is brave enough to face other candidates despite his lack of money and popularity, because for him, this is such a great opportunity to continue the fight that his parents started.

Speaking before USJR students, Aquino bared the important agenda listed in his platform, which would start with job generation, followed by improvement in the education as he believes that better education brings about better skills for better jobs.

He also stressed his priorities to improve health services and judicial reform.

Aquino said that given some of the best laws the current government has, the focus of his administration-to-be would be to make sure that laws are properly enforced as means to solve the problem on corruption.

He told students that his edge over his cousin Gilbert ‘Gibo’ Teodoro Jr. is his leaning towards a party which is able to identify the flaws of the current administration. – Jessica Ann Pareja/NLQ   (FREEMAN NEWS)
