Multi-brand electronics chain opens Cebu outlet

CEBU, Philippines – Lifestyle electronics store Digital Walker penetrates the Southern Philippine market with Cebu as its launch pad taking advantage of the active consumer market in gadget and accessories in this part of the country.

Digital Walker, one of the country’s largest retailers of premium gadgets and accessories, has partnered with Cebuano entrepreneurs led by Stanley Go, through the Digi Cebu Inc., company.

Digital Walker is a multi-branded store carrying latest technology products in the market, which opened its first outlet in Cebu at third level of Ayala center Cebu.

The Cebu outlet is the 18th store opened by Digital Walker Corporation since it started in 2002.

“We ventured into tech-based business because the direction now is more on technology. Retail shops that are anchored into tech and gadgets are growing on the back of the advancement in technology,” said Go.

Go believes that the high consumer spending on gadgets and accessories noted in recent years will on gadgets and accessories, will likely double in the coming years, and that investing on this kind of business will be profitable.

What makes Digital Walker stand out among other gadget accessory stores is that it carries authentic US technology products, Go claimed.

Digital Walker founder Howard Paw said that the Ayala center outlet showcases at least 50 brands.

“We only carry genuine and updated products,” said Hans Bryant Ong, the business unit head of Digital Walker Corp.

Go, who is the top executive of a well-known processed food maker brand, expressed optimism that the store will do well in Cebu because it caters to a specific market—those that demand original, high quality, durable and value-for-money products.

While visual presentation of the store is now counted as vital in retailing, Go said the company has also put investments on store’s design and layout.

Go added that Digital Walker Cebu aims to offer a unique customer shopping experience.

“Customers get to try our products. They can test it out before they purchase. We have a demo table in place for that,” Go said.

Digital Walker is known for its high quality inventories of earphones, wireless speakers, headphones, among others.

Double or triple growth of gadget, technology related products, including digital accessories is expected in this year and onward as owning multiple gadgets has now become a necessity for people across social status and ages.
