Ayala Group opens phase I of Amara village to lot buyers

- Ehda Dagooc -
Real estate developers Cebu Holdings Inc. (CHI) and Coastal Highpoint Ventures Inc. (CHVI) are opening the phase I of the multi-million peso ultra-high end seaside residential project in Cebu to lot buyers.

Amara village is the first upscale seaside residential development in the country, joining about two dozens first-class seaside subdivisions (so far) being developed in the world.

Starting October 12, CHI, the Ayala conglomerate affiliate will open for sale the 114 lots to the "wealthy" market in the Cebu. The 46-hectare development located in the northern part of Cebu in Catarman, Liloan, will have a total of five phases that will be developed one at a time in the next few years.

Amara is the second high-end residential development project in Cebu of Ayala Group, next to the Ayala Heights subdivision situated at the mountain top of Cebu in Busay.

The introduction of Amara residential project to Cebu will provide another facility that would become the "home of the millionaires" along the shore. The subdivision is accentuated with the 100-year old lighthouse.

Building another Ayala community, the Amara, which has a total of 500 lots, is primarily targeted to ultra-high end buyers who are looking for a living that offers something beyond standard, said CHI vice president for marketing and sales Tetta Ba-ad.

Secondary target market of the project will be families of dollar earner consumers, overseas workers and millionaires who have Cebuano roots as well as millionaires around the country.

CHI's partner, CHVI led by president Antonio N. Chiu said this development will prominently put the sleepy town of Lilo-an in the Philippine map.

Both CHI and CHVI officials were on a benchmarking trip abroad several times, before the development of the property.

"We did a lot of benchmarking trip together with our partner, to see the high-end seaside subdivisions in California, Hawaii, and other places abroad," CHI president Rene D. Almendras said during the press briefing on the project.

Because it is an extremely upscale development, Almendras said building of houses will conform to the developers' policy of "fenceless and free" concept.

Like in the United States, multi-million-dollar worth beautiful houses will not be covered by towering fences, but building of fence will be limited up to the front side of the house.

According to Ba-ad, Amara's major selling point is the location. As early as now, the company already got several bookings for the available lots.

CHVI, is a Cebu-based company led by Ramon Chiu, which will make the Amara development as the company's pilot project for residential venture.

CHVI is the provider of the 46-hectare property, while CHI does the development of the hundreds of million pesos worth project.

Aside from the sophisticated amenities, like three clubhouses, infinity swimming pool, retail strip, school, water sports and fitness facilities, among others, Amara will boast of the 300-meter "Esplanada" or plaza by the sea feature.

Per square-meter price of the Amara lot is pegged from a minimum of P5,800 to a maximum of P9,800 for premium lots.
