MANILA, Philippines — Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) is strengthening links between the Philippines and India, with plans to launch nonstop services from Manila to Delhi and Mumbai in December.
Subject to Indian government approval, the new routes will establish direct air links to two of India’s leading cultural and commercial centers.
PAL said this would provide Filipino travelers with more convenient access for business, leisure and cultural exploration.
“Opening services to Delhi and Mumbai strengthens PAL’s network in one of Asia’s most dynamic economies,” PAL president Richard Nuttall said.
“These routes will create new opportunities for Filipinos to explore India while supporting the growing movement of travelers, businesses and goods between our two countries,” he said.
For both routes, PAL intends to use its 168-seat Airbus A321neo aircraft, featuring 12 lie-flat Business Class seats and 156 Economy Class seats.
The flights will also expand PAL’s cargo capacity between the Philippines and India, allowing shipments to connect efficiently with the airline’s broader international cargo network.
Flights from Manila to Delhi will depart every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, while Delhi-Manila flights will operate every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Meanwhile, flights from Manila will leave for Mumbai every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. It will depart Mumbai every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
By opening new gateways to Delhi and Mumbai, PAL said it is bringing Filipino travelers closer to India’s culture, commerce and heritage.
Delhi serves as a gateway to India’s historic landmarks, seat of government and northern regions, while Mumbai is the country’s financial and commercial capital and a major center for entertainment and culture.
Filipino passport holders can take advantage of India’s e-Visa program, making it easier to plan trips to Delhi, Mumbai and other destinations across the country.
