Globe unit launches subsidiary to accelerate fiber rollouts

MANILA, Philippines — Globe Telecom Inc.’s shared services subsidiary Asticom Technology Inc. has launched a new engineering services firm that aims to help telecommunications providers accelerate their fiber rollouts nationwide.

Fiber Infrastructure and Network Services Inc. (FINSI), the latest addition to the Asticom Group, will provide end-to-end services and industry-specific solutions to telcos, towers, and infrastructure and technology companies.

Operating with a license from the Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board, FINSI’s services include construction, building, installation and maintenance.

“We are on a mission to accelerate the Philippines into a connected nation, using innovative, leading-edge technologies and world-class local expertise,” FINSI general manager Marc Kerveillant said.

Globe said local telcos are doubling up efforts to lay down fiber connectivity across country as demand for high-speed internet increases due to rapid digital adoption.

The company, for its part, has deployed one million fiber to the homes this year ahead of schedule.

“In line with our mother company’s vision of creating a digital-first economy, we aim to help the country reach greater connectivity by being the first-ever homegrown engineering services provider that will support major telcos in the country in building their fiber infrastructure,” Asticom Group president and CEO Mharicar Castillo-Reyes said.

Asticom early this year also introduced a subsidiary called Asti Business Services Inc. (ABSI), which aims to be the number one shared services provider in the country and Asia.

ABSI is a business process solutions company providing enterprises with end-to-end solutions for human resources, administrative, finance, and information technology functions.

Since its commercial launch, Globe said ABSI has been providing shared services to many industries, including telecommunications, financial technology, information technology, retail, health, logistics, automotive, banking, education, real estate and aviation.

Globe has pivoted its primary business to become a digital solutions group.

The Ayala-led telco giant helps develop a robust digital ecosystem for Filipinos by building on its existing footprint in fintech, healthcare, entertainment, adtech, e-commerce, IT services and venture capital.
