CDO launches foodservice unit

MANILA, Philippines -  Foodsphere Inc., maker of the CDO brand of canned and refrigerated meats and the San Marino tuna brand, launched its foodservice unit during the 2011 Chefs on Parade held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

Foodsphere, a trusted supplier to the institutional markets, provides customized meat products, canned marine products, and cheese to some of the largest fast food chains, restaurants, convenience stores, commissaries and companies.

George Syyap, Foodsphere vice president for corporate sales, said the company established CDO Foodservice as an integral part of its sales division composed of food specialists, and research and development professionals who have been specially trained to provide products and solutions to the institutional market.

“We established CDO Foodservice to help businesses, big or small, conceptualize and develop products that are ideal for their growth strategy,” Syyap said during the introduction of the Foodservice team.

The Philippine foodservice industry is a rapidly growing sector that supports the growth of hotel and restaurant industry, tourism, transportation, retail establishments, and other food companies. It generates annual revenues of more than P200 billion and directly employs over 250,000 people, with another 1.2 million people employed in allied industries.

Akel B. Galangan, regional sales manager of CDO Foodservice, said that with its topnotch teams for research and development, sales and marketing, manufacturing, quality assurance and supply chain, the CDO Foodservice is able to establish itself in the institutional/foodservice market providing quality food products to major clients.
