The Edinburgh Business School, through a tie-up with York School, is the first UK institution to set- up an off-campus program in the country. The EBS MBA program offers utmost flexibility because students can choose to study on-campus in Edinburgh or off-campus at the York School in Eastwood City. By opting to study here, students don’t have to leave their work, making a British MBA education more accessible. And since courses are held at and supervised by the York School, the high standard of education is never compromised.
Among those who were awarded include Universal Robina marketing director Mayo Alcon; United Laboratories security and safety group manager Col. Art Vidad; Sycip, Salazar Hernandez and Gatmaitan law firm partner Jocelyn Salazar; Ayala Aviation Corp. chief financial officer Georg Bragas; and DAD International managing director Danny Ang.
Also included were Maceda, Calanog Law Office partner Howard Calleja; Peneyra Law Office managing partner Red Peneyra; Coca-Cola PBA basketball team head coach Vincent "Chot" Reyes; Department of Finance director James Roldan; and Philips Electronics and Lighting Financial controller Joneil Canlas. These scholars were selected from a total of 60 pre-qualified applicants.
The awarding was graced by the presence of the British Embassy Deputy Head of Missions David Campbell, The British Council Director Gill Westway and York School of Management Director Joel Santos. The British community was very present in the affair with members of the British Chamber of Commerce led by Vice-chairman Geoff Short and Eamon Staunton, Head of the Commercial Section of the British Embassy attending.
Thames International CEO Vivienne Tan, Philippine British Society Director Lili Ylagan and Personnel Management Association President Ernest Espinosa were some of the Filipino personalities present to welcome the new MBA program in the country. The Indian business community was also present to appreciate the quality of a British MBA, with Association of International Business Executives of the Philippines (AIBEP) Director Duresh Daswani in attendance.
