Luzon Grid isinailalim uli sa yellow alert
MANILA, Philippines — Isinailalim sa yellow alert status ng National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) ang Luzon Grid kahapon dahil sa nananatiling nasa forced outage ang higit 15 planta ng kuryente.
Ayon sa NGCP, nailagay sa yellow alert ang Luzon grid dahil ang operating margin ay hindi sapat para punan ang transmission grid’s contingency requirement mula alas-3 ng hapon hanggang alas-4 ng hapon nitong Lunes.
Ang grid’s available capacity ay nasa 15,167 megawatts na mas mataas sa peak demand na 13,714 megawatts.
“This comes as four plants have been on forced outage since 2023, three between January and March 2024, and nine since April 2024, while one other is running on derated capacity for a total of 1,406.8 megawatts unavailable to the grid,” ayon sa abiso ng NGCP.
Una nang sinabi ng Department of Energy (DOE) na magpapatuloy na maipatupad ang yellow at red alert status sa mga darating na araw dahil sa hindi inaasahang pagtaas ng demand ng tao sa kuryente dulot ng matinding init sanhi ng El Niño.
