Hamilton Aquatics long course  swimming c’ships

MANILA, Philippines -  Humakot ang Philippine Swimming League (PSL) ng 22 ginto, anim na pilak at dalawang tansong medalya sa unang araw ng 2017 Hamilton Aqua­tics Long Course Swimming Championships na ginaganap sa Hamad Aquatics Centre sa Doha, Qatar.

Nanguna sa ratsada si Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh na umani ng walong ginto at isang pilak na medalya sa girls’ 11-year category.

Nangibabaw si Mojdeh sa 400m Individual Medley, 200m butterfly, 200m backstroke, 50m backstroke, 100m butterfly, 50m breaststroke, open 100m butterfly at open 50m breaststroke habang pumangalawa ito sa open 50m backstroke.

“Jasmine Mojdeh won six gold medals in 11-year-old category and won ano­ther two golds in 12-under category beating older oppo­nents in 50m breaststroke and 100m butterfly. She has eight events in all and courageously join the 12-year old category in butterfly and breaststroke,” ani PSL President Susan Papa.

Nagningning din si Heather White sa girls’ 10-year matapos kumana ng anim na gintong medalya sa 400m Individual Medley, 50m backstroke, 100m freestyle, 100m butterfly, 50m breaststroke at 200m freestyle, isang pilak sa open 100m butterfly at isang tanso sa 200m butterfly.

Nagdagdag ng apat na ginto si Ruben White sa boys’ 12-year 200m butterfly, 100m butterfly, open 100m butterfly at 50m breaststroke, tatlong pilak sa 100m freestyle, open 100m freestyle at 50m backstroke at isang tanso sa open 50m breaststroke.

Ang iba pang medallists ay sina Rowena De Guzman (ginto sa 50m back­stroke, open 50m backstroke at 200m backstroke), Reisha Melvin De Guzman (dalawang ginto sa 200m butterfly at 50m breastsroke, isang pilak sa 100m freestyle at isang tanso sa 200m backstroke).

“We are aiming for more gold medals in the se­cond day of the competition. Our swimmers are in high morale and we’re looking forward to another set of gold medals come day two,” wika pa ni Papa.
