Echo/Bela movie playdate moved due to dad’s death

FUNFARE - Ricky Lo - The Philippine Star

Curtain-raisers:

  • In a joint statement, Robi  Domingo and Gretchen Ho finally confirmed that they have indeed broken up. Until the end of their three-year romance, the couple had stayed, well, “pure” and “clean” as confirmed by Robi himself in a chat with your Funfarer in Singapore last year…Speaking of break-ups, an un-couple knew from the start that they were treading on rough road. But then, invitations to their wedding had already been sent so it was too late to back out…Still another pair “un-coupled” because the woman, separated from her husband, stuck to a “no touch” belief until after they would have been married.
  • Why did a currently controversial actor do a “1-2-3” against a stylist? The stylist provided the actor an entire (from head-to-toe) wardrobe for a TV show. All the items were on load and the actor simply packed all and left the poor stylist to foot for the bill. Paging the “1-2-3-ing” actor: Return the items or reimburse the poor stylist!
  • The neighbors of an actor at a condominium are complaining against the actor’s “bad behavior.” According to the Funfare DPA, the actor is rude to the guards and works out in his unit into the wee hours of the morning, and all the banging and slamming on the floor have become a “nightmare” to the other residents who wonder what keeps him awake.

The playdate of Viva Films’ Luck at First Sight, a rom-com starring Jericho Rosales and Bela Padilla, has to be moved from end of this month to early May in deference to the death of Jericho’s father last March 2 at age 61. Jericho has begged off from three more shooting days.

On his Instagram account jerichorosalesofficial, Jericho posted this touching message:

Papa, I will find this place someday. I will replicate this photo (shown here) of yours with your mighty motorbike. I will replicate all the great things you did in life.

I never got to say how amazing you are and that you are my hero. But I will be strong and patient. I will rejoice. And will always look up because I know that one day we will ride together in heaven. Let me say this in the cyber world — maybe now that you’re up there, you already know how to use Instagram. I love you, pa.

Mabalacat Mayor  meets Trump sons

Mabalacat City Mayor Marino “Boking” Morales, the longest reigning mayor in the Philippines, personally met the two sons of Pres. Donald Trump in an unexpected meeting at the Trump Tower in New York City recently.

Morales was one of those selected by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) to attend the International Benchmarking on Federalism and Good Governance held in Washington, D.C., which was organized by Global Education, Initiative and Creative Learning last January. Part of the program was a visit to the US Drug Enforcement Administration (USDEA) which is the counterpart of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)

After the said event, Morales made a side trip to New York City where he met his friend, Joseph Basilio, an employee at Trump Tower. They had lunch in one of its restaurants where Eric and Donald Jr., and Eric’s wife, Laura, were also having their lunch at that time.

Basilio, who personally knew the two US Presidential sons, grabbed the opportunity and had Morales met them with a photo-op to boot. — Reported by Romy Macalintal
