Couple held over fake NBI group
MANILA, Philippines - A couple were arrested in a sting in Quezon City on Thursday for allegedly using fake identification cards and other National Bureau of Investigation documents to entice people to join a bogus NBI civilian agent group.
NBI agents arrested Solomon and Shirley Viloria at a restaurant along Mindanao Avenue while they were allegedly selling fake ID cards, mission orders and license to possess firearms and permits to carry them.
Agents also seized a .45 caliber pistol with Teflon-coated bullets, which the couple would claim are bullets issued only to NBI agents.
Solomon, a watchman at the Office of Civil Defense at Camp Aguinaldo, would introduce himself as an NBI agent, said NBI deputy director for intelligence Sixto Burgos.
