Lady Bulldogs reyna ng UAAP women’s cagefest

MANILA, Philippines – Sinakmal ng National University ang De La Salle University, 96-72 upang masungkit ang kampeonato sa UAAP Season 79 women’s basketball tournament kahapon sa Mall of Asia Arena sa Pasay City.

Umariba si Gemma Miranda ng double-double na 25 points at 13 rebounds habang naglista si back-to-back Season MVP Afril Bernardino ng 18 markers, siyam na assists, anim na boards at tatlong steals para sa Lady Bulldogs

Itinanghal na Finals MVP si Miranda.

“I just told the girls to take care of the ball and make some adjustments. Siguro yung defense namin, maganda. If we play good defense, our offense will just come easy for us. Gemma and Afril played good today,” ani NU coach Patrick Aquino.

Ito ang ikatlong sunod na taon na nawalis ng Lady Bulldogs ang lahat ng asignatura nito para palawigin ang kanilang winning streak sa 48 games.

“I’m happy for women’s basketball which is gaining so much attention. Masaya ako sa mga girls and sa future ng sport,” dagdag ni Aquino na siya ring humahawak sa Perlas Pilipinas squad.
