Roach ayaw munang isagupa si Pacquiao kay Crawford
MANILA, Philippines – Si Freddie Roach ang nasa corner ni dating Ukranian world titlist Viktor Postol nang dominahin ito ni unified world light welterweight king Terence Crawford noong Linggo.
Sa kanyang napanood ay ayaw muna ng Hall of Fame trainer na isagupa si Sen. Manny Pacquiao sa kasalukuyang American WBO at WBC light welterweight king.
“In between the running and so forth, when he does land punches, he does land really powerful punches,” wika ni Roach kay Crawford. “He hurt my guy a lot, and I know Postol’s got a pretty good chin.”
Inihambing pa ni Roach si Crawford kay American world five-division title-holder Floyd Mayweather Jr., tumalo kay Pacquiao sa kanilang super fight noong Mayo 2, 2015.
“Crawford’s a pretty good puncher. He hits hard and moves very well, and he emulates (Floyd) Mayweather quite a bit,” ani Roach. “I think he’s like a young Floyd, right now.”
Idinagdag ni Roach na bago itakda ang bakbakan ng 37-anyos na si Pacquiao (58-6-2, 38 KOs) at ng 28-anyos na si Crawford (29-0-0, 20 KOs) ay gusto muna ng trainer na isabak ang Filipino boxing icon sa isang tune-up fight.
Nagretiro si Pacquiao noong Abril 9 matapos daigin si Timothy Bradley Jr. sa kanilang ikatlong paghaharap sa welterweight division.
