MANILA, Philippines — Gustong patunayan ni dating four-division world champion Nonito Donaire Jr. na may ibubuga pa siya sa tangkang comeback victory laban kay Mexican Ruben Hernandez sa Alamodome sa San Antonio, Texas sa Sabado (Linggo sa Manila).

Haharapin ng 34-gulang na si Donaire si Hernandez sa 12-round featherweight bout sa kanyang pagbabalik sa 126-pound division.

“I’m ready to return to the ring and show that I still have what it takes to be a world champion and face the best in this sport,” sabi ni Donaire, may 37-4 win-loss record kasama ang 24 KOs),  na ga-ling sa 10-months layoff.

Kumpiyansa ang San Leandro, California-based boxer na mananalo kay Hernandez na tini-tingnan na ang kanyang susunod na laban.

“After this fight, I’m coming for all of the featherweight champions and to prove I’m the best in the division,” aniya.

Hindi pa lumalaban si Donaire sapul nang matalo sa WBO super bantamweight championship kay Jessie Magdaleno noong November 2016 sa Las Vegas. Matapos ‘di makakuha ng rematch, iniwan ni Donaire ang Top Rank at haharapin nga-yon si Hernandez sa labang promoted ng Ringstar Sports.
