MANILA, Philippines — From hundreds of aspirants, Binibining Pilipinas has shortlisted its candidates to 40 finalists from all over the Philippines, and they will compete in a grand coronation night to be held on March 18 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Among the 40 finalists are TV personalities like volleyball player and ex-Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) housemate Michele Gumabao; former PP housemate and actor Jason Abalos’ girlfriend Vickie Rushton; and singer, model, Miss World Philippines 2016 and Miss World 2016 Top 5 Finalist Catriona Gray.
Apart from Filipinos, Gray also earned a following among beauty pageant enthusiasts from Latin American countries.
Another finalist to watch for is model and nurse Murielle Adrienne Isidore Orais, who won as Miss Philippines Water in the 2011 Miss Earth Philippines beauty pageant.
During the finals night, Binibining Pilipinas will crown the country’s representatives in major global beauty contests.
Among those who will crown their successors are Miss Universe Philippines 2017 and Miss Universe 2017 Top 10 finalist Rachel Peters; Bb. Pilipinas International 2017 Mariel de Leon; Bb. Pilipinas Supranational 2017 and Miss Supranational 2017 Top 10 finalist Chanel Thomas; Bb. Pilipinas Grand International 2017 and Miss Grand International 2nd Runner-up Elizabeth Clenci; Bb. Pilipinas Globe 2017 and Miss Globe 2017 1st Runner-up Nelda Ibe; and Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental 2017 Katarina Rodriguez, who is about to compete in Egypt on January 25.
Founded in 1964, Binibining Pilipinas 2018 marks the emerald anniversary of the pageant.
