Here's how you can help the families of the 44 fallen SAF

Alixandra Caole Vila - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The soldiers who were once husbands, boyfriends, fathers and sons to their parents, and now heroes to the country have fallen while trying to carry out a mission to protect the country. As individuals, we could help their families go through the grieving process softly by lending help.

In solidarity with the families of the 44 cops who lost their lives in the recent police operation in Mamasapano, Maguindanao, the government declared Friday, January 30th,  a National Day of Mourning.

In line with that, several companies made some initiatives to help the families of the bereaved.

Uber Manila

On this day, all of Uber's proceeds from the trips you take will be donated to the Land Bank of the Philippines account specifically set up by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to aid the families of the men whose lives were lost in Sunday's operation.

Starbucks Philippines

A portion of today's sales in all Starbucks branches will also be donated.

Meanwhile, here are the details you need if  you'd like to make a personal donation:

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) – Landbank of the Philippines (LBP) Account Name: “DSWD-Armed Conflict Mamasapano, Maguindanao” – LBP Current Account Number (CA) No. 3122-1026-28
