2 NPA leaders arrested in Negros
BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — Two New People’s Army (NPA) leaders were arrested in Barangay 1 Poblacion, Kabankalan, Negros Occidental on Thursday.
Louie Antonio Martinez of the national military staff and Aurora Cayon, alias Lilay, of the national finance commission of the communist movement yielded a .45-caliber pistol, ammunition and a fragmentation grenade, Col. Eliezer Losañes, 303rd Infantry Brigade commander, said.
Cayon has a standing warrant for robbery and arson while Martinez is facing charges for murder and attempted murder.
Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group and soldiers belonging to the 303rd Infantry Brigade served the warrants.
